Background

 

Hamish is the new kid on the block. He holds Bachelor degrees in both Commerce (International Business) and Law, along with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP). One might say he’s an over achiever!!!

 

He knew he wanted to be a lawyer, not because his Dad was one, and certainly not because his professional basketballer or golfing career was in doubt, but because of an innate ability to solve complex problems and thereby help people.

 

Prior to commencing his Bachelor of Laws he completed a Bachelor of Commerce and gained valuable life experience along the way. He began his legal studies as a mature, humble and pragmatic individual. Thankfully he retains those attributes today. His enhanced ability to think outside of the box is what makes him stand out from the crowd.

With his legal studies shaped by a Bachelor of Commerce, Hamish knows that today’s commercially fierce environment means that legal advice shouldn’t be confined to the strictness of a legal text book. Advice must be tailored, clear, succinct, and importantly, add commercial value.

 

Primarily providing support for Sean and Nick, Hamish helps with the many moving parts of a legal matter.

 

After being admitted to practise in 2018 Hamish has successfully steered clients through the process of appearing in Court through to being instructing solicitor to Counsel, most recently on a Full Court appeal in a complex construction matter.

Expertise

 

Prior to joining FBR Law Hamish gained legal experience and exposure at Minter Ellison, a large international commercial law firm.

During university holidays he gained great experience and insight labouring for a Builder, Plumber and a Paver. This now serves him well at FBR Law! In this time he also discovered the importance of getting the job done right and became a connoisseur of Farmers Union Iced Coffee as well as a good pie and sauce.
